26 - NW MN A.B.A.T.E. Family Fun Day.  Noon, Floyd B. Olson Park. Join us for a motorcycle run! All bikes - old, new, big, small - are welcome to ride in the run. Ride begins at noon; sign in from 9:00-10:00 a.m.  Cost is $20/bike or vehicle.  Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and great prizes!  TRF Animal Control, Pennington County Humane Society and K-9 Cutters Pet Grooming will be there, along with some of the many dogs from the shelter looking for homes.  All proceeds to benefit Pennington County Humane Society.  Contact Gary at (218) 686-8135 or email garyorock@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

31 - Concert & Movie in the Park.  8:00 p.m., Hartz Park.  An outdoor concert featuring the WoodPicks.  At duck, a movie will be shown on a 25-foot screen.  Admission is free.  Concessions will be available.  Bring your lawn chair or blanket.
August 2008
1 - Street Wizards Pre-Car Show Cruise Night.  6:00-9:00 p.m., Black Cat Sports Bar & Grill.  FREE to special interest vehicles! For more information call 218-681-5862. 
2 - Street Wizards Annual Cruise-In Car Show.  Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., car show 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and awards at 3:00 p.m., Floyd B. Olson Park.  Cost: $10/car entered.  Spectators welcome.  Spectators vote for People's Choice Trophy.  Door prizes for participants.  Fun for the whole family.  For more information call 218-686-2969 or 218-681-7073.
2 - "Reminiscing about the Past, Planning for the Future" Parade.  10:00  a.m.  Several prizes will be awarded.  For more information call the Chamber of Commerce at 218-681-3720.  
2 - "Celebrate our Rivers."  12:00 noon, Hartz Park.  Paint a "River of Dreams" canoe at 1:00 p.m..  Cost $5 which includes canoe, brushes and non-toxic paint.  Canoes will be released at 7:00 p.m. from the Hartz Park walking bridge.  A free outdoor concert featuring "Marcoux Corner" will begin at 8:00 p.m. 
2-3 - Fall Outdoor 3D Shoot.  Held at the Thief River Falls Archery Club Outdoor Range south of the Thief River Falls Regional Airport.
5 - MinnAqua.  9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Red Robe Park.  An effort to teach and expand fishing opportunities on the Thief/Red Lake River to local kids.  For more information call 218-681-2519.
5 - National Night Out.  Peder Engelstad Pioneer Village.
10 - Sportsmen's Extravaganza.  1:00-5:00 p.m., Ralph Engelstad Arena.  Featuring displays, speakers, history, and demonstrations of bows, guns, and traps.  Coffee and cookies furnished by the Pennington County Sportsmen's Club.
16 - 3rd Annual Lions Fishing Tournament.  Held on the Red Lake and Thief Rivers.  Cost: $10/entry.  For more information call 218-681-6572.
